It’s March 17th – our travel day to Australia! It’s hard to believe we’re finally going. It seems like we’ve been planning this trip for years – in our minds and in actuality. Most of you know that my motto is “I live to leave!” But right now the hardest part is leaving “the girls,” and that does include Jennifer and Katie. Fortunately, sweet Ellen Miletello is going to house and puppy sit for us.
Mark has been working long hours and weekends to get ready to go and to finance our adventure! I’ve been in hunter and gather mode: adapters, converters, maps, cell phone international plans, and all things we think we might need.
The flight from LA to Sydney is 15 and 1/2 hours. Can yall imagine being in a small confined place with me for that long? I don’t think Mark can either! I think his defense will be to sleep as much of the flight as possible.
We’ve never done a blog or anything this technical. (I kind of feel like “Julie and Julia.”) We don’t want to bore you all, but hope this will be a way to keep everyone filled in on what we are doing and seeing. We’re going to try to upload some pictures to see if it’s as easy as it’s suppose to be. We’re disappointed that our MiFi card won’t work in Australia, but with a bit of luck we’ll be able to find a wireless signal everyday to log on and send updates.

Have a great trip! After your trip you can have the whole blog published in a book….Caroline will be doing that with her blog to France….I don’t know the specifics on “how to” but just ask any 20 something and they’ll give you the details…be safe!
I hope you have a fantastic time. I am remembering what fun I had there. Be sure to spend time at “the Rocks” and Sydney harbour.
